Kim Chiu and Xian Lim Excited for Their Very First Movie Tandem!
On- and off-screen sweethearts, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, are both excited for the approaching release of their highly anticipated comedy film and their first ever movie team-up from Star Cinema, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo," which will hit cinemas nationwide next Wednesday (July 31).
As part of the year-long grand celebration of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary in the movie industry, the KimXi (Kim and Xian) love team is proud to star in film adaptation of the best-selling 'self-help' humor book by self-proclaimed 'Internet action star' Ramon Bautista and directed by blockbuster director Bb. Joyce Bernal.
"Masaya at excited kami ni Xian sa kwento ng movie namin kasi sobrang kakaiba siya at talagang nakakatawa. We guarantee na ibang klaseng acting ang io-offer ng pelikula namin sa moviegoers," said Kim who confessed that she did everything to give justice to the story of the best-selling book. "Sana maraming matawa at maraming mainspire kasi ako mismo natawa sa sarili ko. Iba 'yung role ko dito. Ang layo-layo sa lahat ng nagawa kong pelikula. Hitsura ko pa lang malayo na!"
Xian added that both he and Kim enjoyed the on- and off-screen experience while shooting "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo." Xian shared, "It’s our third project together and this is our first movie together so s'yempre mas open na kami sa isa’t isa, so more kulitan than seryoso. Of course, serious kami while filming pero pagkatapos ng take, kulitan naman."
Under the story and screenplay of Irene Emma Villamor, the witty yet funny "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" is a 'self-help' comedy movie about the lives of brainy 'ugly duckling' employee Sandy Veloso (Kim) and his rich and dashing boss Alex Prieto (Xian).
"Yung character kong si Sandy, 24 year-old virgin siya na makulit at masipag sa trabaho. Sa sipag niya, 'employee of the month' siya sa office from January to December, walang sablay," Kim explained. "Ang taas ng confidence ni Sandy. Hindi niya alam na sa paningin ng ibang tao pangit pala siya pero sobra kung magmahal si Sandy."
In the middle of her plan to move on after a throbbing break-up with her boyfriend Gardo (Kean Cipriano), Sandy’s life will turn around to a more exciting phase as she meets her domineering boss, Alex.
"Dahil siya ang pinakamagaling na empleyado, susuyuin ko si Sandy rito na tulungan akong ayusin ang problema ng nalulugi naming recording business," narrated Xian. "Being a guy who gets what he wants, it's interesting to discover kung papaano mapapapayag ni Alex na tulungan siya ni Sandy, who just came from a heart break."
Both Kim and Xian shared that the moviegoers will not laugh while watching but will also pick up a lot of life lessons from "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo."
According to Kim, just like the other masterpieces of Star Cinema for the past two decades, the characters in "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" will share stories that moviegoers can connect with and talk about.
"Bukod sa tatawa sila nang tatawa, mare-realize nila sa 'Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo' na we don’t have to please everybody. Kung may tao man na magugustuhan ka, magugustuhan ka niya bilang ikaw lang--no more, no less," said Kim.
"Sa movie namin, matututunan ng moviegoers kung bakit hindi sila dapat matakot magmahal at kung bakit hindi kailangang madaliin ang love dahil darating at darating naman 'yun kapag para sa atin. I believe in destiny. What’s meant to be, is meant to be," Xian added.
Aside from Kim and Xian, also featured in "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" Pokwang, Mylene Dizon, Freddie Webb, Kean Cipriano, EJ Jallorina, Cholo Barretto, Marnie Lapus, Cheska Iñigo, Cecil Paz, Diane Medina, Sarah Gaugler, Jojit Lorenzo, Ryan Boyce, Lilia Cuntapay, Tonton Gutierrez, Angeline Quinto and the author Ramon Bautista!
Don't miss the first movie team-up of Kim and Xian that will give all the answers to the questions of the brokenhearteds, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo," to be shown on cinemas nationwide on July 31, 2013.
