"Hello Stranger," Thai's Favorite Romance Movie Airs in Cinema One

One of Thailand’s favorite romantic comedies is hitting television screens and is set to put a whole new identity on love stories on Sunday (August 18) as Cinema One airs the award-winning Thai film “Hello Stranger”.

Starring model-actor from ATM Chantavit Dhanasevi and singer-actress Nuengtida Sopon, “Hello Stranger” is about a young man and woman who both separately decide on taking a vacation to Korea. There, the two meet, and in a serendipitous atmosphere, decide to tour the country together with a far from normal kind of catch—that they keep their names secret from each other, in a story that reveals that when it comes to the identity behind true love, what’s in a name is far from what truly matters.

“Hello Stranger” was directed by the award-winning director Banjong Pisanthanaku, who garnered the title of “Most Promising Talent” for this film. He is also the director behind the popular Thai comedy horror film “Pee Mak”, which stars Mario Maurer and is currently being highly anticipated to hit local cinemas.

Upon the film’s commercial release, “Hello Stranger” went on to gross 130 million baht in Thailand and became one of the most successful movies of its time. The film was also screened in various Asian countries including the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Taiwan.

Don’t miss out on this sweet Thai treat on Blockbuster Sundays movie block (August 18) at 8:00 p.m. on the Philippines’ number one cable channel, Cinema One (SkyCable channel  56).
