"Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story" is another entry to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival. This is a movie remake based on a true to life story of a Filipino legend.

The new Asiong Salonga is now portrayed by the Laguna Governor George Estregan Jr. His leading lady is the Kapuso star Carla Abellana.
